Pakistani Authorities are taking care of the response against Corona effectively, says WHO Official!
WHO country representative Dr. Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala has lauded Pakistan’s efforts in tackling the corona outbreak by saying “Pakistan has world’s best National Response Program against the virus.”
WHO Official said in an interview with The News International,
“Pakistan has timely come up with one of the world’s best National Response Program against COVID-19 and it is being implemented very effectively. Authorities are doing their job and now it is the responsibility of the people to follow the instructions and take preventive and precautionary measures to avoid contracting the viral disease.”
He further added,
“At the moment Pakistan has seven diagnostic labs which are capable of conducting 15,000 tests but there is a need for more diagnostic facilities in case the number of suspected patients go up.”
“Authorities have even established a mobile diagnostic facility that had been dispatched to the Taftan border for testing and diagnosing suspected people coming from Iran,” he acknowledged.
“Maintaining hand hygiene is the key to prevent oneself from contracting not only COVID-19 but also many other transmissible diseases. People should regularly wash their hands with soap and water at least for 20 seconds and use sanitizers when they can’t wash their hands”, he urged people.
The WHO representative urged people to take care and follow precautionary measures to avoid contracting the COVID-19. The virus is extremely contagious though but it is not dangerous than some other members of the coronavirus family.
WHO representative of the country visited and inspected the arrangement of different hospitals and shared his satisfaction over the safety measures that are been taken in the hospitals.
