Business tycoons call on Gen Bajwa as economy nosedives!
Heads of Pakistan’s leading business houses exploded before Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday night as they shared their serious concerns about Pakistan’s stagnating economy.
The government’s non-serious attitude is considered to be the reason behind the debilitating situation faced by the businesspersons who are the drivers of the country’s economy.
Their main worry was that the government does not go beyond verbal assurances and their words literally do not match their actions.
According to the sources, the army chief heard the grievances expressed by the delegation and reassured them of his help. He further added that he would try to resolve their concerns at the earliest.
COAS also said he would create an internal committee comprising military officers to work on their’ grievances and resolve it as soon as possible, the sources claimed.
COAS also advised the business executive that they should cooperate with the government and do not side with anti-government forces.
In his address, COAS said:
“We all love Pakistan, and the country needs them the most. He praised the services rendered by the business community for Pakistan. Their (business community) efforts will help the country to move forward and compete with other nations.”
Businessmen also took out their anger and frustration over the bad situation of a country’s economy. They conveyed to COAS that business units are getting closed one by one. If the situation remains the same then all businesses would be shut and all the laborers unemployed.
