Nawaz Sharif is all set to surrender after breaking his fast
Time is running out for ousted PM Nawaz Sharif who will be heading back to Kot Lakhpat Jail later today. His six-week bail period has expired.
The former PM will be turning himself after Iftaar. He will surrender himself to the jail authorities at his Jati Umra residence in Lahore.
Last week, the Supreme Court turned down his plea for an extension to his bail period on medical grounds. Maryam Nawaz is likely to accompany her father and will be there in the car. She intends to remain with her father until he’s taken into custody.

The three-time PM was sentenced to 7 years in prison. He was fined Rs1.5 billion in the Al-Azizia reference by an accountability court last December.
He was imprisoned in Adiyala Jail but later shifted to Kot Lakhpat Jail on his request.
CJP granted him bail for six weeks and gave him an opportunity to get treated for various health ailments. However, Nawaz Sharif wanted to go abroad and wasted the six weeks on random medical tests.
The Panama Papers revelations led to the removal of Sharif from office in 2017. In 2018, the Pakistani Supreme Court disqualified Sharif from holding public office, and he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
Sharif went to Saint Anthony High School. He graduated from the Government College University (GCU) with an art and business degree and then received a law degree from the Law College of Punjab University in Lahore.
