The ball is in India’s court, says DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor
In an interview with CNN, Director General Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the ball is in their (India) court, if they did not stop the escalation it would not be good for the region.
Major General Asif Ghafoor further added that “We were close to war when India violated the air space of Pakistan just because of aggression, we went for the response.”
On the offer of a peace gesture from Pakistan on releasing IAF wing pilot Abhinandan DG ISPR added “It is up to them to accept our peace gesture or move on with their agenda by jeopardizing the lives in the region.”
On the question about the situation on the Line Of Control (LOC) he responded “We are eyeball to eyeball with each other along the Line of control. The troops were always present along the LOC but after the air space violation of IAF, the security along LOC is increased massively and they are always on high alert to respond the enemy because it is a natural part of the military planning.”
When he was asked about the Balakot air strike DG ISPR cleared the air by stating, “There is not a single body present, not even the debris of the alleged training camp which India has claimed to strike.”
He elaborated, “The terrorist attack in Pulwama which was claimed by Jaish e Muhammad (JeM) had not been made from inside of Pakistan as JeM does not exist inside Pakistan.”
DG ISPR further said that the trigger of Indo-Pak tension after Pulwama Attack lays in the United Nations Human Rights Commission report “The suppression of the local population by being killed, raped and the use of the pellet guns on them, this is natural reaction to retaliate.”
