Tamgha e Imtiaz Mehwish Hayat Receives Congratulatory Wishes From British Envoy

Renowned Actress Mehwish Hayat received congratulatory wishes from the British High Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew on receiving the honor of Tamgha e Imtiaz.

He replied on Mehwish’s tweet by thanking her and saying “You have brought the real Karachi spirit and style to the evening.”

He further added, “It was good to congratulate you properly on the well deserved award you were awarded by the President on 23rd March.

The response came after her tweet in which she shared her photo with the British High Commissioner Thomas Drew sharing “Totally bowled over by His Excellency, the British High Commissioner at the celebration of The Queen’s birthday in Karachi.”

She further elaborated, “Agreed on many things except who is going to win the Cricket World Cup this summer” and also she thanked the Deputy High Commissioner Elin Burns for the wonderful evening.

Mehwish Hayat (Urdu: مہوش حیات; born on 6 January 1989)[1] is a Pakistani actress.[2] Hayat is one of the most popular actresses in Urdu entertainment industry.[3] She was honoured by the Government of Pakistan with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2019.[4][5]

The 2012 blockbuster romance serial Meray Qatil Meray Dildar marked a significant turning point in Hayat’s career, earning her praise and nomination for Best actress at Lux Style Awards. She later won the Lux Style Awards for Best television Actress for her portrayal of a strong headed in Kashif Nisar‘s acclaim series Kami Reh Gayi (2013).[5]She achieved further success by featuring as the female lead in four of Momina Duraid‘s romantic dramas—Phir Chand Pe Dastak (2011), Mirat-ul-Uroos (1999), Ishq Mein Teray (2000), Ru Baru and Anjum Shahzad‘s highly successful family drama Kabhi Kabhi (1999) and Nadeem Baig‘s Dil Lagi
