Punjab Minister Fayyaz Chohan sacked after derogatory remarks against Hindus
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar removed Fayyaz-ul-Hasan Chohan as the Information Minister of the province following his remarks against the Hindu community. According to the Spokesperson for CM Punjab, Fayyaz Chohan tendered his resignation in a meeting with the CM.
The Hindu community in Pakistan, as well as Twitteratis, called for Fayyaz’s sacking after he was quoted making fun of the Hindu religion.
This is what we get in response to our love & patriotism for #Pakistan from @PTIPunjabPK Minister @Fayazchohanpti using derogatory words for #Hindus "cow's urine" peenay walo & "idol worshippers" without realizing that #4million Hindus live here. Even his party has Hindu MPs. pic.twitter.com/h8rbpVcjLr

It was after this statement that Fayyaz was criticized by people from all walks of life and many demanded his removal from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
People like #fayyaz chohan doesn't deserve this position ! is he the information minister of Punjab? the way he hurt Pakistani Hindus & their beliefs , is really pathetic, I think we shouldn't target any religion in that particular way, that's what we are taught . #insane man

Although Fayyaz Chohan apologized publicly and said he didn’t mean to hurt the sentiments of a community, everyone wanted him out as he was growing into an embarrassment for the ruling party.
I apologize to Pakistani Hindu brothers for hurting them: #FayyazulHassanChohan

It was not the first time that the minister had hurt the sentiments of others but it seems that the higher-ups had enough of his goof ups this time around.
Now the real challenge is to educate & groom the masses on HOW to respect others' religious beliefs as advised by Islam itself. 👍 pic.twitter.com/ORgB8jG8Sd

Taking notice of Chohan’s remarks, PM Imran Khan said that there was no place for such derogatory remarks against minorities in Islam.
