PM Imran Khan Faces Twitter Backlash After Calling Bilawal ‘Sahiba’ (Miss)

PM Imran Khan has passed alleged sexist remarks against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and called him ‘Sahiba’ (miss) during an address in South Waziristan.

PM Imran Khan is in trouble. Social media is a dark and unforgiving platform. It dissects news to the very last detail and presents its verdict either in the form of memes or in the form of character assassination. It is the self-proclaimed judge, jury, and executioner.

PM Imran Khan on Wednesday passed alleged sexist remarks against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and called him ‘Sahiba’ (miss) during an address in South Waziristan.

Furthermore, he said that he came into power through struggle and hard work and unlike Bilawal Sahiba who, using the will of her mother became the head of the political party.

Naturally, Twitter was flooded with tweets condemning the PM’s alleged sexist comments against the PPP chairman, with a perfect opportunity for his haters to come out and slam him publicly.

Journalist Marvi Sirmed wrote:

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari’s daughter and social media activist, Imaan Hazir Mazari tweeted:

Activist, Gul Bukhari, who doesn’t even hide her deep-lying hatred for PM Imran Khan, said, “Very, very small. Calling Bilawal Bhutto Sahiba (madam) doesn’t belittle him at all. It just demonstrates PM Imran Khan’s lowness, indecency, and sexism. An insult to the office of the PM.”

Bilawal himself responded with a reference to PM Imran Khan’s comment against Indian PM Narendra Modi, using the hashtag #PMSelect. “What was that about small men in big offices? #PMSelect,” he tweeted.

Maryam Nawaz made her feelings clear against PM Imran Khan as well.

Meanwhile, some of Imran Khan’s supporters took it upon themselves to defend the PM.
