A last over finish helps Pakistan Women go 2-1

On one hand, the Pakistani men’s team is losing matches consecutively, but the Pakistan Women are making the nation proud. After a thrilling encounter, they beat South Africa by four wickets to take a 2-1 lead in T20I series.

Pakistan Women won the toss, elected to field

South Africa began cautiously against the visiting side and although they didn’t lose wickets, their scoring rate wasn’t perfect. It was Tazmin Brits maiden T20I fifty that helped the hosts post 138 runs for 3 wickets in bowling friendly conditions.

Restricting the batsmen was the key

Rameen Shamim and Aliya Riaz ended the day with one wicket each. Pakistan were feeling confident of chasing the score until the second innings started.

Iram Javed’s maiden fifty helps Pakistan

It was Iram Javed who saved the day for Pakistan, especially after the lost 3 wickets for 3 runs. Her maiden T20I fifty rescued Pakistan from the hopeless position.

She managed to top score with 55 runs and added 77 runs for the fourth wicket with Nida Dar (32).

Sana Mir to the rescue in final over

The other star performer of the day was Aliya Riaz who chipped in with 30 runs. Former Captain Sana Mir stayed there till the end to see the match end in Pakistan’s favor.

The series now moves to Benoni for last 2 matches

Pakistan Women lead the five-match series 2-1. The next two matches will take place at Benoni on Wednesday and Thursday.
