Pakistan Miss The Semi-Final Bus But Impress All With Comeback!

Pakistan did miss the bus to the semi-finals but Shaheen Shah Afridi will remember this match for a long time. The teenaged bowling sensation who started the World Cup with unimpressive performances ended it in style. He delivered his best when the team needed it, taking six out of the ten wickets to fall against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Miss Last Four Spot Despite Imam, Babar performances

Pakistan Cricket team managed just 315 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in a match they were ‘supposed’ to post 500. The openers were a disaster until Babar Azam joined Imam ul Haq and showed him how to score quickly. Babar Azam was unlucky to have been dismissed at 96, and missed his second century of the tournament by 4 runs. Imam ul Haq managed a run-a-ball century, only to be dismissed hit wicket soon after reaching three figures.

Imad Wasim’s quickfire innings neutralized Mustafizur Rehman’s spell

Imad Wasim’s 26-ball 43 helped Pakistan cross 300 runs; Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rehman was in no mood to let Pakistan go beyond 300. He ended with 5 wickets in an innings and was instrumental in restricting Pakistan to less than 350.

Bangladesh Batsmen Ensured Pakistan Miss A Place In Last Four

Bangladesh was supposed to defeat an already-out-of-semi-final Pakistan. However, they were bowled out for just 221 runs in a match they were supposed to do better. Pakistan’s strong bowling was no match for them; although the ended the tournament at number 7, they will go back a better team. They owe their brilliant run to all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who was instrumental in their three wins and close encounters.

Records Tumble As Shaheen Shah Afridi Ends With Six Wickets

Shaheen Afridi ended the match with 6 wickets for 35 runs, which are the best figures for a Pakistani bowler in World Cup. He also becomes the only teenager to take six wickets in the mega event and helped his side win the match by 94 runs.

India, Australia Aim For Top Position At The Points Table

On the last day of league matches, India will face off Sri Lanka at Leeds and South Africa will try to end on a winning note against Australia. Since India (13 points) and Australia (14 points) have already qualified for the semi-final, they might give a chance to their bench strength. A lot depends on the points so who knows, they might go for the kill.
