Pakistan Beat India In Snooker Championship Final To Bring The Title Home
Good news for Pakistanis. Pakistan Snooker team has defeated Indian Snooker team in the final of the ACBS Asian Team Snooker Championship to clinch the trophy. Pakistan (2) got the better of India (1) 3-2 in the grand finale of the championship in Doha.
Babar Masih and Zulfiqar Qadir represented Pakistan and trounced the experienced Indian team featuring Pankaj Advani, Laxman Rawat, and Aditya Mehta.
In the 1st two matches, Pakistan was quick out of the blocks as Babar Masih defeated Pankaj Advani 79-1.
It was a similar story in the next match as Zulfiqar Qadir trounced Laxman Rawat 71-1.
The Men in Green put up a good show against the rivals during the critical moments of the game to lift the trophy, with Qadir also taking home the gold medal.
India Made A Comeback In The Team Game vs Pakistan
The Indian team made a come back in the team game, defeating the Pakistan pair 58-18. And then Advani edged Qadir 67-39 to make things interesting. However, team Pakistan held their nerve and the final game was won by Masih beating Rawar 69-9.
Earlier, in the semifinals, India (1) and Pakistan (2) had edged past Myanmar and Thailand respectively with identical scorelines of 3-2.
