The motorway incident is an eye-opener!
On Thursday night an incident on the motorway which has shaken the nation badly and caused mental trauma to everyone whoever has heard about it not only questioning the security provided by the state as well as making them realize that our security providers also belong to the same stereo minded mentality.
Yesterday two-man raped a woman at gunpoint while she was waiting for help on the motorway after her car run out of fuel with her children in it. They took her and children to a nearby field at gunpoint and gang-raped her.
However, on the other hand, Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh, who is set to lead the investigation of this brutal incident saying that it was her fault for “choosing the route she took and not checking her petrol tank,” before leaving. On his absurd statement, twitter slams CCPO for not doing his job and should have been ashamed of victim-blaming.
The police officer who said that the motorway rape victim should not have travelled on that route at night repeats his stance and adds that she (the woman raped in front of her children) thought this was France. And PM Imran’s right hand man, Shehzad Akbar, defends him! pic.twitter.com/z4wWooIY7v

Strongly condemn the reprehensible gang rape that occurred on the motorway. On top the insensitive remarks by CCPO Lahore were idiotic & deplorable. Public servants have to be extra careful. They must show empathy as they have been chosen to serve, not to rule.
