Mika Singh banned from performing, recording, playback singing and acting in India after performing at an event in Karachi, Pakistan
Indian singer Mika Singh has been banned from any performance in India after he recently performed at a concert in Pakistan.
Mika Singh aka Amrik Singh made headlines after he performed at Former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf’s relative’s wedding. Considering the current situation between the two countries, this event was discussed for all the wrong reasons.
Now according to reports, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the mother body of all the 24 crafts of filmmaking has banned the famous singer ‘irrevocably forever’ from performing, recording, playback singing and acting in India.
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also banned the singer from the Indian film industry.
A video went viral on the internet in which Mika could be seen performing at this wedding event in Karachi. Where Pakistanis were upset for letting him perform here, Indians were also quite furious at their famous singer.

FWICE issued a statement on Wednesday and said:
Deeply pained and anguished by the performance of singer, Mika Singh alias Amrik Singh at the wedding of former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf’s cousin’s daughter in Karachi, followed by the height of tension and broken relations between India and Pakistan, which is shocking, shameful and shattering.
Since the cultural bridge between India and Pakistan is under siege, his performance sent shivers down the spine of every Indian.
We at FWICE have zero tolerance for such acts and unanimously condemn it as anti-national, unpatriotic and ghastly and totally ban Mika Singh alias Amrik Singh and the 14 crew members who participated in the presentation from any performance, recording, playback singing, acting in India.”
We humbly appeal the production houses, music directors, event managers, All India Radio, all FM stations, music companies, recording companies, national TV and satellite channels and others related, to boycott Mika Singh for any musical activity irrevocably forever.”
Anybody dealing with Mika Singh will do so at their “own risk and will be boycotted.

Mika Singh Banned by Film Body of India! #MikaSingh recently performed at a wedding in #Karachi, #Pakistan, which raised a furore on social media with fans calling him out on the micro blogging site for his decision. Reportedly, Mika performed at a family event of former Pakistani president #PervezMusharraf's relative. Now, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has banned the singer from the Indian #filmindustry for performing at the event. The film body further put an unconditional ban on the singer and boycotted him from all the movies and music contracts with the #entertainment companies. AICWA takes a stand of boycotting all his association with movie production houses, music companies and online music content providers. "When the tension between the countries is at the peak, Mika Singh puts money above the nation's pride," the film association said. #Lollywood #Bollywood
Mika Singh’s recent visit to Pakistan wasn’t all that bad that it has portrayed now. He had an eventful tour of Pakistan and also visited Nankana Sahib. The A-lister singer spent time with the Pakistani Sikh brothers and participated in a lunch arranged at Kartarpur.
His 3-day visit can be summed up as ‘he came, he prayed and then he performed’.
We think that this step taken by FWICE and AICWA is a bit extreme to ban their famous singer from performing ever again. Let’s see what Indian and Pakistani celebrities have to say about this.
People on social media are also sharing their stance on forever ban on Mika Singh
Wrong. You can admonish him but banning is all wrong. We are not yet a police state.

Indian film body bans Mika Singh for "putting money over nation". He performed in Pakistan at event organized by close relative of Gen. Musharraf. What action are we taking against the organizers? Is patriotism useful only when crushing (civilian) dissent?https://t.co/1oqpOgbWLt
