Maryam Nawaz Arrested By National Accountability Bureau For Skipping Appearance
Leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Maryam Nawaz has been taken into custody by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The daughter of disgraced former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif was arrested outside Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore where she had gone to meet her jailed father.
Reason For Arrest of Maryam Nawaz
Maryam Nawaz had been issued a notice to appear before NAB today in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. However, she chose to ignore the notice and instead went to jail to meet her father where she was ‘nabbed’ by the officials.
NAB is said to have traced numerous telegraphic transfers (TTs) worth millions of rupees by the Sharif family and the end beneficiaries allegedly including Maryam Nawaz and other owners of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
The NAB investigation is now trying to ascertain if Maryam and other Sharif family members are stakeholders in the Chaudhry Sugar mills.
The case has reportedly been substantiated by the money laundering investigations being carried out against PMLN leaders Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz.
She was questioned about the “suspicious” transactions related to the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) of which Maryam was one of the largest shareholders. Sources reveal that the three-member investigation team questioned her about the remittances present in her account, considering her shares in CSM.
She receives direct TTs from Hill Metal Estb,Gets payments in Chaudhry Sugar mills case, Submit forged docs but our so called journalists want NAB not to arrest her for questioning. They never question her of her deeds & want gvt to give her clean chit in corruption cases.
