Malik, Finch Confident Of Winning Battle In The Desert!

International Cricket will take over the minds of Pakistani fans after a well-organized Pakistan Super League kept them on their toes for over a month. The Shoaib Malik led side will take on a resurgent Australia in the first of five one-day internationals in Sharjah later in the day.

The Greenshirts are without six key players including Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi who have been rested for the series, allowing bench players a chance to grab a spot in the World Cup squad.

Skipper for the series Shoaib Malik is confident conditions in UAE and believes that their side is more suited to the desert than the Aussies.

“Every series is tough but its a good opportunity for young players. Australia will be high on morale but we should have an advantage of the conditions.” Malik said during the trophy launch ahead of the series.

Australian skipper Aaron Finch thinks that even without their best players, Pakistan is a threat in UAE and he hopes his team would carry the momentum of a series win in India to this one.

“It is about trying to maintain our momentum that we got in India. The Aussie skipper said about his team’s first series win in India in a decade.

The remaining matches of the series will be played in Sharjah on March 24, Abu Dhabi on March 27 and Dubai, March 29 and 31.
