Malaysian PM to be the guest of honor at Pakistan Day Parade: DG ISPR

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor has informed that Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Muhammad will be the guest of honor on Pakistan’s Day parade this year.

The 93-year-old Mahathir Bin Muhammad will be accompanied by a delegation of investors and traders for potential business opportunities. Both Pakistan and Malaysia are expected to sign several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) in the trade sector while Malaysia is likely to abolish import duty on Pakistan’s edible oil.

Following the Malaysia PM, the Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan is expected to visit Pakistan in March as well. Pakistan is expected to sign major defense deals with Turkey who have expressed their interest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

After becoming the Prime Minister, Imran Khan visited Malaysia last year in November along with a delegation where the two sides agreed to extend co-operation in trade, tourism, food privatization, and foreign direct investment.
