Lahore witnesses another terror attack
A suicide blast outside the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore has resulted in the deaths of at least ten people, including three police officers, and left more than 20 injured. The blast took place in the early hours of Wednesday, May 8.

According to initial police reports, the blast targetted a van carrying the Elite Force of Punjab Police.
Moreover, Inspector-General Punjab Police Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan confirmed the attack targeted the police force and said three policemen died in the blast. A security guard and civilians were also among the dead.
The martyrs identified in the aftermath of the blast include Head Constable Shahid Nazir, Head Constable Muhammad Sohail, and Constable Muhammad Saleem.
Furthermore, at least 25 injured people are being provided with medical aid. Some of them are in critical condition, DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Ahmad Khan added.
The blast took place around 8:45 am outside Gate number 2, where the police personnel were deployed for security.
He added that it was a suicide bombing.
The aftermath of the blast resulted in the banning of entry into Data Darbar. Zaireens are being to turn away as police make initial investigations.
Data Darbar is one of the largest Sufi shrines in South Asia. It dates back to the 11th century. In 2010, a suicide attack killed more than 40 people at Data Darbar.
