Indian SC awards controversial Babri Mosque land to Hindus!
The impending decision regarding the Babri Mosque land is finally out and as expected was ruled in favor of Hindutva ideology. The Supreme Court of India announced its verdict on the demolition of the 16th-century mosque in 1992 terming the land was illegally snatched away from Hindus, giving them permission to build a temple on Ayodhya land.
The court said that the demolition of the 460-year-old Babri Mosque in the riots of 1992 was a violation of law and order and a five-acre land will be provided to Muslims for the mosque. This decision will surely and likely have an impact on the relations between India’s Hindus and Muslims.
According to The Hindu, the top court ordered the government to formulate a scheme within three months under the Ayodhya Act 1993 and set up a trust. Until the trust is formed, the ownership of the site will rest with the Centre.
The verdict has marked a huge victory of Hindu nationalists under the regime of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This proves that India is not secular and ruled by a dictator who likes to butcher the rights of the minority. This is an alarming situation for the minorities residing in India especially Muslims who are continually treated as second rate citizens.
On the other hand, Pakistan is gaining trust by promoting peace with Sikh brethren. This side of the border, Pakistan is welcoming the Indian Sikhs for the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor.
