Reportedly, Hasan Minhaj was stopped from entering due to lack of credentials and lack of space

Famous comedian Hasan Minhaj was refused entry to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on Sunday held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The event producers cite lack of credentials and lack of space for broadcast crew for stopping the Indian American star from entering the venue. However, evidence shows that there was ample of space left even after that.

Adam Matthew Weiss, president, and CEO of AMWPR which handled the event posted a video on Instagram showing Hasan Minhaj being told there were no press credentials available for him and his crew. They also informed him that there was no space for him to bring his camera crew into the venue.

However, videos on the same Instagram account showed there were other media crews present in the press pool area with ample space.

Neither Hasan Minhaj nor the management has responded to the incident yet and we are yet to know the actual reason behind it.

Journalist Maria Kari added that she was also refused media credentials, preventing her from attending the rally.

Maria took to Twitter saying she’s not the only Muslim journalist who was denied entry to the event

According to popular opinion on social media, Minhaj was denied entry as he has been a critic of the Indian Prime Minister, US President Donald Trump. Moreover, he also spoke in favor of Kashmiris on India’s Independence Day on 15th August that further fueled the hatred towards him.
