FIA Arrests Man For Blackmailing TikTok Star Jannat Mirza

Man arrested by FIA for blackmailing TikTok star Jannat Mirza!

On the complaint of the famous TikTok star Jannat Mirza, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man  for doctoring her images and posting them online.

Reportedly, Jannat Mirza was being blackmailed by a Faisalabad man named Asfandyar, and upon her complaint against the suspect, the FIA arrested him along with two other men.

Jannat accused Asfandyar of posting online edited images of hers’ and her sister Alishba Anjum. Asfandyar also posted lewd videos online and claimed they were theirs. She filed an official complaint against Asfandyar at the Cyber Crime Division of the FIA.

The agency took immediate action and was able to arrest the suspect in Lahore, and also took two other men into custody along with him. After completing the legal processes the FIA has successfully obtained permission to take Asfandyar for a two-day physical remand.

The suspect has now confessed that he had intentions of marrying Jannat’s sister Alishba, but his proposal was rejected by her and because of that, he tried to take revenge by harassing them online.

While talking to SAMAA TV Asfandyar said, that he edited the pictures and videos and shared them online. He also promised that he wouldn’t do such thing again, and asked to be given a last chance.

Jannat says that it is not easy for female TikTok stars in Pakistan, as they are constantly being the subject of harassment in the country. Jannat is one of the most popular TikToker of Pakistan with around 7.5 million followers on the social media platform.

Upon the arrest, Jannat took to her social media account and posted a screenshot of a news item that contains the news of the arrest done by the FIA. The FIA’s Cyber Crime Division of Faisalabad said that currently there are more than 3,000. active complaints of cyber-crimes in the city.
