Faran Tahir Gets Another Nomination For Playing Richard III

The renowned Pakistani- American actor Faran Tahir, best known for his works as Captain Robau in Star Trek and Raza in Iron Man continues to make Pakistan proud.

The talented actor/director has been nominated yet again as OUTSTANDING ACTOR – LARGE THEATRE at the 37th Annual Elliot Norton Awards and we couldn’t be happier.

However, prior to these awards, he was nominated for the same role in IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England) Awards that are known as the Oscars of Theatre and have been known to acknowledge the best achievements in theatre, especially in Boston.

According to reports, Faran Tahir has been chosen for his iconic performance as Richard III that was performed by The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company.

The actor visited Pakistan earlier this year and appeared on stage with his younger brother Ali Tahir in BHAI BHAI that was an adaptation of Sam Shepard’s True West. It was also the first time in 39 years that the actor got to perform in Pakistan, considering he left for the United States in the early 80s to get a Masters degree in theatre from Harvard University.

Faran Tahir is the grandson of iconic playwright Imtiaz Ali Taj whereas his father Naeem Tahir, mother Yasmin Tahir and brother Ali Tahir have been part of the showbiz fraternity for over 50 years.
