England Wins Fourth ODI Against Hapless Pakistan

Pathetic Fielding, Bowling Cost Pakistan Big Time As England Triumph Yet Again!

It was one of those days where nothing went right for Pakistan against England. Their opening batsman Imam ul Haq went off due to injury in the fourth over. The following batsmen played 120 dot balls in their innings which ended at 340 runs. And then, the bowlers surrendered against a better prepared English side which chased the target in the final over.

Imam’s slow batting dented Pakistan’s chances of a mammoth score

In an era when you need to score quick runs, Pakistan finds themselves at a loss. Before he went off the field for an elbow injury, Imam ul Haq took 13 balls to score just 3 runs. He then returned at the fall of the seventh wicket to make it a 20-ball 6 runs that hurt the team.

Babar Azam scored a hundred, Hafeez and Fakhar manage 50s

Although others scored at more than run a ball, Pakistan fell short by 20 runs in the end. Babar Azam top scored with 115 while Mohammed Hafeez managed 59, Fakhar Zaman 57. Tim Curran was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for the hosts.

England Wins Because Of Their Positive Approach

The hosts had other ideas when they came out to chase 341 runs. James Vince and Jason Roy added 94 for the first wicket in 13 overs. Joe Root chipped in with 36 and helped Jason Roy reach his century off 89 balls.

It was Stokes all the way!

It was Ben Stokes who proved his Captain’s faith in his batting right; the all-rounder was unbeaten at 71 when he hit the winning runs off Hasan Ali. Tim Curran supported him with an important 31 in the final overs.

You can’t win matches by dropping catches

England Wins the match because Pakistani bowlers were let down by their fielders, captain and even themselves. It was as if they were zoned out on the field, with no intention of doing something positive. Barring a few outstanding catches, it was a plain and simple embarrassing display of fielding.

The fifth and final match of the series will be played on Sunday. Pakistan will be looking forward to play Shadab Khan who has been declared fit for the World Cup.
