Dr. Atta-Ur-Rahman makes Pakistan proud of his contribution to Organic Chemistry!
Professor Dr. Atta-Ur-Rahman continues to make us proud. The educationist was conferred upon the highest Scientific award of China for his contributions in the field of Chemistry. To honor Dr. Atta-Ur-Rahman’s hard work, Malaysia and China have named many research centers after him.
Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman will be receiving the ‘China International Science & Technology Cooperation Award’ award from the Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Peoples Hall in Beijing on 7th January 2020.
Dr. Atta Ur Rahman has specialized in Organic Chemistry and served as the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). He also served as the Minister for Science and Technology from the year 2000 to 2002.
The government of Pakistan has awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, and Nishan-i-Imtiaz to Professor Dr. Atta-Ur-Rahman in the past for his outstanding contribution.
He has written 1,250 publications internationally especially in the US and Europe, including many research papers and authored 341 books to his credit.
Previously, this award was given to many prominent scientists that include Dr. Carlo Rubbia (Noble Prize in Physics, 1984) and Dr. Zhores Alferov (Noble Prize in Physics, 2000).
