Curfew Lifted in All 22 Districts in Indian Occupied Kashmir

Indian Occupied Kashmir

Indian government lifted daytime curfew from all 22 districts and has also asked the local establishments to open schools

According to India TV, the government of India eased day-time restrictions from all 22 districts in Indian Occupied Kashmir on Saturday morning.

This step has been taken by India after Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed the Kashmir issue in his speech at United Nation General Assembly which was a direct call to the world leaders to take a step for the Kashmiri people.

PM Imran Khan’s speech is trending worldwide in which he addressed some major issues faced by the world, especially Muslim and developing countries. From talking about climate change to money laundering and Islamophobia, Imran Khan also put forward the true image of what’s going on in Kashmir and warned the world that the situation would end in a bloodbath if immediate steps are not taken.

It seems like Imran Khan’s UNGA speech left a huge impact on the Kashmir issue and finally, the restrictions have been lifted in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Right after the abrogation of Article 370 in Indian Occupied Kashmir on 5th August, the curfew was placed in all the 22 districts. Now, only daytime restrictions have been relaxed from all 105 police station jurisdictions in IOK,  according to ANI.

Reportedly, this step was taken after the situation was normalized in Dilbag Singh, DGP Jammu, and Kashmir. Where movement is allowed in the region, communication is still shut with no mobile phones and the internet.

The Indian government will try to normalize the situation, but it is expected that Kashmiris who have been living in the curfew for the last two months will come out to protest for their rights.

The shops and establishments have been largely shut down in the Valley. The people have not opened their businesses in most areas since.

The Indian government has also asked the local establishments to open schools in the valley in order to bring the situation back to normal.

However, this news is only being shared by Indian media, let’s see if it is true.
