CBC lodges FIR against 22 unidentified protesters!
The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) on Wednesday lodged an FIR against dozens of residents of Clifton and Defence who had gathered outside its Karachi office.
Earlier this week the protesters gathered outside the office of the CBC due to slackness in removing rainwater from Clifton and DHA roads.
The case charges are “ransacking” CBC’s office, using “inappropriate language” against state institutions, spreading fear, harassing officials, and creating hindrances in official work.

The charges CBC lodged against the unidentified 22 protestors who participated in the protest on August 31 on the complaint of a CBC officer Munawar Hassan.
The complaint also stated that he was present at the CBC office located at Khayaban -e- Rahat, Phase VI on Aug 31, and the other staff were in the field busy in dewatering efforts when at noon 40-50 people gathered around the office to lodge their complaints.
In the meantime, a group of 30-35 miscreants also came there who started shouting slogans against the state institutions started to fight with guards who were posted there. They also forcefully entered the office broke the mirrors, flower pots, and harassed the staff.
According to the Police officials, no one was arrested until now. The protestors were angry for not developing and maintaining the proper sewerage system and even failed to restore electricity in most parts of these areas after 98 hours.
-To dewater both the areas in the next 3 days.
-Restoration of electricity and gas supplies to all the areas of Clifton and defence within 24 hours.
-Reconstruction of the damaged areas and the infrastructure within the 30 days.
-Construction of a proper sewerage system in 30 days.
-Accountability of officials with the forensic audit of DHA and CBC to see where all the Tax money paid by the residents is been used.
-Mosquito spray should be sprayed in all the phases of DHA.
The protesters also shared that CBC did not agree to most of our demands. The lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir also tweeted on the matter:
