British Airways To Resume Flight Operations In Pakistan From August 14

British Airways announces resuming of Pakistan Flights from August 14, 2020

British Airways, the flag bearer of the United Kingdom, has announced to resume direct flights to Islamabad, Pakistan from its Heathrow Airport, UK, three times a week. The announcement is an important step towards reconnecting the trade ties between the two countries.

On Thursday, British Airways announced the good news that the flight operations between the two countries will be resuming from the upcoming month of August. The British High Commission released a statement saying that there will be three direct flights a week to and from Heathrow Airport and the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.

The flight resumption announcement is an important step towards rebuilding trade ties between Pakistan and the UK.

The statement further reads that the resumption of flights will begin from Aug 14 this year, and will operate by taking extra precautionary measures against COVID-19 for the safety and wellbeing of its crew and passengers.

The British High Commissioner Dr. Christian Turner highlighted the importance of building trade ties between the countries and said that this flight resumption is a big boost for the hundreds and thousands of people of our countries, who are regularly traveling between our two great nations.

He also added that they will be happy now that flights have resumed, as their travel plans were disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.

On this occasion, he thanked all the parties whose continuous efforts made this possible, which includes the govt. of Pakistan, The British Airways, and the team in Pakistan.

Moran Birger, Head of Sales Asia Pacific & Middle East at British Airways, said that they are pleased to again be of service between the two countries. He added that they are aware that many of our customers have been waiting to reunite with their family and friends, and they are looking forward to welcoming them on board.

Although the airline first started its operation in Pakistan in 1976, it took a break from flying to and from Pakistan for 10 years from 2008 onwards and only resumed its operation in June last year.
