Interior Ministry rejected to extend Cynthia D. Ritchie’s visa!
The Interior Ministry on Wednesday rejected the request of visa extension of American blogger Cynthia D. Ritchie and directed to leave the country in 15 days.
The ministry issued the notice after IHC had directed the ministry to take a decision on the matter after the court was informed about the expiry of her visa that was on 31 August. Last month, Islamabad High Court had given three months to decide the deportation of Cynthia D. Ritchie.
The hearing that is conducted by Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah on the petition filed by PPP’s leader Iftikhar Chaudhary for the deportation of Cynthia D. Ritchie on defaming remarks against the Pakistan People’s Party PPP leadership.
However, the ministry has asked for more time to make the decision on which court has extended three more weeks for the impending decision. On Tuesday hearing ministry had changed its stance and clarified that she is not associated with any government institution of the country.
Previously, American blogger, Cynthia D. Ritchie, in her shocking revelations claims that she was previously assaulted by the members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Not only that, but she also claims that she was raped by the former Interior Minister Rehman Malik back in 2011.
