Aisam ul Haq’s perfect Eid gift to his countrymen
Pakistan’s Aisam ul Haq is one of the best-known faces in international Tennis because of his gentleman approach to the game. On the eve of Eid ul Fitr in the country, he made the entire country proud by reaching the mixed doubles semi-final at Roland Garros. With his Ukranian partner Nadiya Kichenok, the duo cruised into the semi-finals of French Open mixed-doubles event on Tuesday, presenting a perfect Eid gift to his countrymen.

The Pak-Ukrainian duo will face American – Brazilian pair in semis
While the whole country is busy watching Cricket, Aisam ul Haq is busy winning Tennis matches. He and Nadiya Kichenok defeated Taiwan’s Hao-Ching Chan and Austrian Oliver Marach 6-3, 6-4 in their quarterfinal. In the semis, the Pak-Ukrainian duo will face American Nicole Melichar and Brazilian Bruno Soares.
The American – Brazilian pair entered the semi-final after knocking out Alicja Rosolska and Nikola Mektic in a 6-3, 7, 6(4) victory. The time of the semi-finals is yet to de decided due to continuous rains in Paris.
Aisam ul Haq won an ATP Title as latest as in April
It must be mentioned here that a couple of months back, Aisam ul Haq Qureshi of Pakistan and Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez won their first ATP Tour title in Houston.

Aisam ul Haq’s dream run in US Open 2010 made every Pakistani proud
In 2010, he stunned the world by reaching the final of both men’s and mixed doubles of US Open with India’s Rohan Bopanna as his men’s doubles partner and Květa Peschke of Czech Republic as his mixed doubles partner.
Let’s hope he makes it back with the winners’ trophy!
His runners up speech at the end of the final won the hearts of all. He spoke about Pakistan’s isolation in sports and it’s love for Cricket, Tennis and other sports at length. Let’s hope he ends up lifting the trophy this time around, making us all proud once again.
