Aisam – Nadiia had a better game, statistically
The Pak – Ukraine pair both had a terrific game where they served 5 aces compared to the opponents’ none. They even double faulted less than the eventual winners who won on the basis of their better first serve and breakpoints.
Pavić – Gabriela won more games, hence the match
Although Pak – Ukraine duo won the only tie-break of the match, they ended up winning 8 games compared to Pavić – Gabriela’s 12. The second set they won proved to be the turning point of the match where the tide changed from Aisam – Nadiia to Pavić – Gabriela.
On Tuesday, Aisam ul Haq made the entire country proud by reaching the mixed doubles semi-final at Roland Garros. With Nadiaa Kichenok, they cruised into the semi-finals of the French Open mixed-doubles event, presenting a perfect Eid gift to his countrymen.
