Abhinandan ’s Safe Return – India Shocked, Pakistan Rocked!
It was a proud moment for Pakistan when they returned Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan, to his countrymen at the Wagah Border on Friday. Abhinandan who was captured after his plane was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force two days back was released as a gesture of goodwill made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan during the joint session of the Parliament.
The decision not only elevated Imran Khan’s stature in Pakistan but was also appreciated internationally. The famous comedian Jeremy McLellan even went onto ‘nominate’ Imran Khan for the Nobel Prize.
Can we take Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize away and give it to Imran Khan?

Former Indian cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu too praised the act while taking it to Twitter.
@ImranKhanPTI Every noble act makes a way for itself… your goodwill gesture is ‘a cup of joy’ for a billion people, a nation rejoices…
I am overjoyed for his parents and loved ones.

Imran Khan’s ex-wife Jemima reacted with a clap emoji on the official post of announcement to the release.

On the other hand, India once again took the noble act for granted and claimed that the release happened due to the Geneva Convention refusing to believe that Imran Khan had anything to do with it.
“It must be understood that Pakistan has not done us a favor by returning Wing Commander Abhinandan. Under the Geneva Convention, a serving soldier captured during the conflict has to be returned”, the Indian Minister of External Affairs Vijay Kumar Singh said.
Lok Sabha speaker, on the other hand, credited Modi for Abhinandan’s release. “It is for the first time in the history of our country that an Indian soldier is returning from Pakistan in such a way. We can understand that our brave soldiers made Pakistan bow and act under pressure.”
Although the act has been appreciated by a few by the Indian commentators, India still fails to understand that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and does not tolerate violation.
